hello. hello hello, i'm alive i swear (how often do i say this now lol)

basically, i know i dropped off the face of the earth again. but i'm back, i'm unemployed and trying to get a small art business off the ground (@HullaBailu on etsy, instagram and tiktok! pls check it out, even if you just like/comment/share a couple of tiktoks or insta posts that'd mean the world) while simultaneously trying to sort my life out and find a job, or a couple jobs, to keep me afloat. in the current environment, finding employment of any kind is hard as heck.

help needed! 3(kinda) things:

1. people with large, active instagram followings - do you have any tips? i'm working on building my art 'business' and obviously instagram is a large part of that. besides regularly posting, are there any other tips/bits of advice you can give me? anything would be a huge help!

2. i'm looking for a way to be able to sell personalised mugs/prints that go directly from me to the buyer, without having to buy my own print machine (perhaps until i can afford it). i'm of course aware of sites like snapfish, redbubble etc but these either would require me ordering mugs myself and then shipping them out, or in the case of redbubble and similar, it's more a 'upload a public design and people can order their own mugs/prints etc' rather than them being personalised as specific commissions.

basically i've been doing pet doodles which are perfectly suited to mugs/prints but so far the best option seems to be to just send the digital files and then the buyer goes to a thirdparty print site and orders whatever product they want themselves and upload my drawing. but it'd be nice to do it direct ? has anyone done anything like this before/knows how i'd go about it?

or tbh if anyone has a printer for art prints that's not too expensive and can recommend one, i'd be happy to hear those recommendations too <3

3. just generally, from anyone who makes a living selling/doing art, i'd love to have some tips/maybe a conversation? i recently dropped out of uni to spend at least this year trying to go it alone. i'm still looking for other jobs to keep up income but i want to use this year to really try and find my feet as an artist to some extent so any and all tips and tricks would be useful. whether it's recommending etsy/redbubble/giving tips on setting up on these sites, or other things to try and do as an independent artist, ANYTHING is useful <3
